Only a couple of days until we head to Ireland for our next ancestral discovery tour. If it is anything like the last one, there should be only smiling faces.
There is an amazing feeling of connection as you walk the journey of your ancestors and uncover more of their story. We have one guest on this trip whose ancestors lived very close to Powerscourt which is now open to the public as a heritage house and gardens, we are yet to find a direct link, but who knows what we shall find as we explore that region? Our researcher has discovered an interesting coincidence that shall be revealed as we get closer!
Another guest's ancestors lived in the shadow of the Rock of Cashel and with any luck we shall at least be able to find the street, if not the actual house they lived in.
Cavan shall be interesting as 3 guests have connections within a couple of miles of each other.
Along the way, there will be a chance to do some of the "normal" sightseeing and since Ireland is a beautiful place anyway, I'm sure we won't be disappointed, except that our time will surely run out before we are ready to end our journey.
Killarney, Clare, Mayo and Cavan are just some of the Counties we shall visit and being such a small group we are able to put together a personal history for each of our guests.
Anyway, better go for now as I still have a bit to pull together to make this the trip of a lifetime for each of our special guests.
Be in touch soon,
